Abstract:

Views of California and Virginia City, Nevada mining sites and towns as they looked in the 1940's-1950's. Many comparison views with copies of 19th century photographs. Remains of mining equipment pictured.
Copy photos of works by Watkins and various Calif. stereo photographers; copy photos of Columbia River and Portland, Oregon views, with descriptive typescripts and correspondence relating to images of fishwheels, etc.
